WinKids!

Paisley finished up her Spring class at Winkids - this is her last parent/child class. Next year if we go back, she'll move on to other gym/dance classes all by herself. Paisley just LOVED Coach Jack, pictured below. She had a lot of fun with him this time around.

Here's the whole class below, minus one little boy who was just done with the whole group thing & jumped just as I snapped the picture.

And just a little quick video of Paisley at her last class on Wednesday.

Summer Fireworks

Lake Grapevine puts on a fireworks show every Friday night at 9:30 & this Friday was the first time we've been able to go. Even though it is way past Paisley's bedtime, we decided to make an adventure out of it & head out to the lake for a "hike" to find a good spot to watch the fireworks.
As you can tell, it was REALLY windy. My hair is looking quite lovely. Oh well, Paisley was having a great time on our adventure. She was imagining that we would run into all sorts of animals and bugs, but none of that happened.

Paisley was enjoying a little snack of her veggie tales chewies. She is still completely into Clifford, but LOVES to sing along to veggie tales songs in the car. Her favorite seems to be "God is bigger than the boogie man"... I must admit, it is pretty precious to listen to her sing that song.

Summer is here!

Summer is underway at the Gibson house. Mike is through the first full week of his summer class and Paisley starts her short summer camp & swimming lessons this week. Fun times. When we moved to Flower Mound in the fall, we decided to buy a family membership to the community activity center - it is brand new and about 5 minutes from our house. They have a full fitness center, indoor lap pools, and this great outdoor waterpark. We knew we'd get our money's worth for sure this summer taking Paisley to the splash/water park. It's been open for 3 weeks & we've gone every weekend so far.
Paisley's enjoying a chicken nugget snack while taking a break from the excitement.

Paisley isn't exactly what I'd call "adventurous" in the water. We went last weekend with the Marx family & Abby and Hannah were WAY more into it than Paisley. What can I say, she's cautious like her Mommy :) Dad likes to get her riled up with splashing...
She does like the little kid slide - something she can do on her own & she doesn't get splashed by too many buckets, etc.

Here's a view of the kid area of the water park - what kid wouldn't love this? She has a blast & has so far had a meltdown everytime we've had to leave. We're working on that :)

Mike took her to our neighborhood pool for the first time this week too. I haven't had the chance to go yet, but I am sure we'll be there lots this summer too.

Heather's Graduation

Aunt Heather graduated from Baylor on the 15th of May and we all made the trip down to Waco to attend the ceremony and celebrate! We are so proud of our Aunt Heather, she has been a great student at Baylor and is now already through her first week at a big girl job :)

Paisley got carsick on our way down to Waco, so we stopped in Red Oak of all places to clean her up as best we could & get the car seat into decent shape so we could make the rest of the drive. I have a feeling that I've passed along my tendancy for car/motion sickness to her, I'm sorry sweet girl!!

Grandma Jacqueline and Papa Earl came to spend the weekend with us as well, and we had the best time visiting with them. Paisley especially enjoyed all of the attention from having even more grandparents around to oooh and ahhh at her :)
Congrats Heather! We love you!!

Evening at the park...

The three of us enjoyed a nice evening at a park near our house after dinner. Paisley was tickled with this slide :)

We have lots more Easter pictures that I have yet to go through and get posted, I'll catch up soon. Everyone is busy enjoying the Spring weather. Mike's semester will be wrapping up in a month and he'll have a little break before taking one class during the Summer 1 session in June. Paisley will finish up at her school in May also and we have plans for a few summer classes and 1 camp at her new school too. Busy, busy!!

Happy Easter!

Paisley has enjoyed 4 easter egg hunts this year, what a week it's been! On Sunday, March 27th, our neighborhood HOA had a great hunt and Easter event at our neighborhood park - complete with petting zoo and all. I'll post pictures from that event soon, I'm kinda working backwards.

On Monday, Paisley's class had their own hunt, and then Paisley hunted eggs with Grandma and Grandma Fay on Wednesday. The pictures below are from our picnic and fun afternoon at our church yesterday. There was a huge area of egg hunting, and Paisley squeeked in with the 2 & under crowd and had a blast. There were also 6 different bounce houses set up & Paisley visited all of them, several times...

Paisley has really enjoyed the events surrounding Easter this year - what a difference a year makes at this age! This morning, the easter bunny left Paisley a basket full of treats, most of which were Clifford related.
When Mike and I woke up, Paisley was already awake, reading books in bed (a frequent practice for her). We went in to check on her & found that she took all of her new Clifford books out of her easter basket and took them back to bed to read. Nevermind about all the candy, etc. :)
We all got dressed and headed to church to celebrate that HE IS RISEN! It's been a great Easter.
Happy Easter everyone!

ABCs

Paisley is doing well with her ABCs... We caught her practicing today on video.

She's still a little unsure of the K L M N O part. And at the end, when the song says "Now I know my ABC's"... Paisley says "Now MY know my ABCs". Funny stuff.

Notice the Clifford books on the ground. She's OBSESSED. And when I say obsessed, I mean it to the fullest extent possible. She's now accumulated, with the help of her parents and grandparents, 4 Clifford stuffed dogs, countless books (must be up to 20 or 30 now), just about every library book that involves Clifford that we can check out at any one time, and plenty of Clifford episodes recorded on the DVR at home. I need to gather all of the Clifford stuff and get a picture of her with it.

Clifford comes on PBS kids at 8 AM and 3 PM every day. On the days that it is possible, her schedule HAS to include the watching of these episodes. Any other time of the day, we read Clifford books over and over again. She's even gone so far as to ONLY use the RED crayon when coloring, because, well duh, that's Clifford's color.

As I mentioned, she's learning her letters, etc. She knows that mommy's name starts with a C and she also knows that Clifford starts with a C. Sometimes she gets very confused because she can't figure out how Clifford and mommy can share the same letter.

I think this is the start of something that could potentially turn into the type of obsession her Dad suffers from with Star Wars. I might need to direct her efforts toward other things soon to save myself from the craziness later in life. :)
