Paisley enjoys looking outside when we have the blinds pulled up in the kitchen. We didn't think she could reach the doorknob, but quickly realized we may have a problem on our hands sooner than we thought.

Can we play outside?

The many faces of Paisley...
Goofy girl... She realized at some point during this meal that she didn't like the hard plastic bib I put on her. It went downhill from here.

Big Week!
Not only has Paisley decided to walk (intermittently at best) this week, she's also survived her first ear infection. We definitely consider ourselves blessed to have made it more than 13 months before encountering our first sickness, but it sure isn't fun!! She's handled it well, in spite of also cutting 3 molars while fighting this ear infection. Yuck!

We are walking...kind of...

Paisley and her sunglasses. She only leaves them on for a few seconds but loves to play with them.
We are walking now but only when Paisley feels like it...and that isn't too often. She does have the ability to do it though because she has shown us several times that she can take around 5 steps at a time, but really she would just rather crawl at this point.
Dane (above) and Jarrett (below) came to visit last week. Everyone got along great and good times were had by all.

13 months old...
Well here we are at 13 months old...time sure flies. She is still not walking yet. We can't believe it either. If we could do it for her, we would, but we can't...and the truth is, she just doesn't feel like it yet...although we know she can do it!
This picture above is Pais wrinkling her nose up...it's one of her cool tricks. Although when she gets older and wants to have friends and or to be considered cool, I think she will have to stop doing it. But for now it is cute...
Eating with a fork and spoon is very entertaining. Above she has food on her spoon, but has opted to pick up some other food with the same hand she has the spoon in and eat it.
This is Pais on her car and looking under the hood at the same time. Hopefully, we will have pictures of her walking soon...

A day in the life of a 1 year old...
Paisley is keeping us on our toes, moving around all over the place and getting into everything she possibly can. She's not walking, but she is discovering that she really can stand on her own without support, so all she's got to do now is take that first step. We can't wait! Here she is at dinner the other night, turning on the charm... I think she still looks so much like Mike, but with my nose :) and blue eyes.
This car was one of her birthday gifts and she really likes it. It is tough right now since it is so hot, we can hardly spend any time outside. But, the other night after I came home from the office, we got out and Dad decided to run Paisley up and down the driveway in her car. As you can see, she really enjoyed herself.
I let her have a small piece of a chocolate chip cookie before she went outside, and she had a little left over.
No other real noteworthy events at the Gibson house this week. Mike is finishing up his summer class and then we'll have a few weeks of rest before he starts the fall semester with 3 new classes. Also, our good friends Katie and Steve are bringing Abby and Hannah home from the hospital today! They are just the cutest little girls ever! Both are under 5 lbs now, but they are just as healthy as can be. We can't wait to spend more time with them. Paisley, Abby and Hannah will have lots of fun together,
Have a great day!

Birthday Party
Mike is wrapping up a month of the oh-so-fun business calculus this week, so I've been given permission to post a few more blogs until he's done :)
We took Paisley to Chuck E Cheese on the evening of her birthday. I really can't stand that place, but Pais and Mike had a good time going around to all the rides, etc. and playing. Here she is on the Bob the Builder ride in the toddler area.
Her birthday party last weekend was great fun. We had lots of family and friends here to celebrate with us. She really loved the balloons that Ree and Papa brought.
When it came time for her cake, she behaved just like mommy would have, she didn't want to really get her hands dirty, so she picked at the icing for quite a while. She did eventually dig in a little bit, but we did not witness the usual complete mess of a face and hands like most kids birthday parties that I've been to.
Pais had a great birthday & received so many great gifts - thank you all so much for celebrating with us!
